pH control in sodium chlorate cell for energy efficiency using PSO-FOPID controller

Industrial sodium chlorate production is a highly energy-intensive electro-chemical process. If the pH of cell not controlled, current efficiency drops from 99% to as low 66.66%. Hence control very significant for energy-efficient production. This study puts forward fractional order PID controller controlling cell. The tuning FOPID variables affected by employing particle swarm optimization. highlight that it flexible, easy deploy and time computation significantly few parameters are needed be adjusted in PSO. performance analysis suggested FOPID-PSO was studied compared with traditional PI using time-domain provisions like settling time, rise peak overshoot error indicators integral square (ISE), absolute (IAE), (ITAE). PSO proved perform well conventional controllers 0.5 sec 0.1 time. demonstrates has better setpoint tracking, which essential process under consideration.
